Description
Different versions of the FT101 app have different upgrade methods, and firmware upgrades are only supported in app version V1.0.4 and later. This article explains how to upgrade both the app and the firmware in different versions of the app.
Requirement
● Milesight FT101: With guaranteed network connectivity.
● Field Tester v1.0.4 & FT101 Firmware v1.3 (Only Field Tester with APP version 1.0.4 support upgrade firmware 1.3)
(1)Field Tester v1.0.4 version and later
If you are using Field Tester app version 1.0.4 and later, you can follow the steps below to upgrade the app and firmware.
Note: Field Tester v1.0.4 and later versions introduce firmware upgrade functionality. Using a bin file for firmware upgrades is intended to update the LoRaWAN system on the FT101.
App Upgrade:
1. Ensure the FT101 device is able to access the Internet.
2. Launch Field Test App, and navigate to Settings > Basic Information page.
3. Click App Upgrade to download the latest App apk file from the Internet(Ensure network connectivity for the device). You can also import the file(Download the link provided in the Requirement section above) to the device by connecting device to computer via type-C port if there is no Internet.
4. Open the apk file on the device folder to install it.
Firmware Upgrade:
1. Download FT101 device firmware above.
2. Connect the FT101 to the computer via type-C port.
3. Import the device firmware to the file folder of FT101 device.
4. Launch Field Test App, and navigate to Settings > Basic Information page.
5. Click Select file to select the firmware file and click Upgrade to upgrade the device.
Note: Before upgrading, ensure the version of the Field Tester App is 1.0.4 or later.
(2) Field Tester v1.0.3
App Upgrade:
1. Ensure the FT101 device is able to access the Internet.
2. Launch Field Test App, and navigate to Settings > Basic Information page.
3. Click App Upgrade to download the latest App apk file from the Internet(Ensure network connectivity for the device). You can also import the file(Download the link provided in the Requirement section above) to the device by connecting device to computer via type-C port if there is no Internet.
(3)Field Tester v1.0.2 and before
App Upgrade:
You can only use the method of importing the file to the device by connecting the device to a computer via a Type-C port. Please download the file from the link provided in the Requirement section above.
