Description

Actility is a world leader in Low-Power Wide-Area Networks (LPWAN) industrial-grade connectivity solutions for the Internet of Things. Actility provides its ThingPark™ platform and network technology to deploy, operate and maintain public and private wireless IoT networks within a unified, scalable and versatile network infrastructure.

Milesight gateway has built in Actility latest LRR software (version 2.8.54) to be compatible with ThingPark platform and we can start to deploy and configure it easily.

Requirement

Milesight LoRaWAN Gateway: UG65/UG67 with firmware version 60.0.0.44 and later, UG56 with firmware version 56.0.0.5 and later (for other models refer to Actility ThingPark - Milesight Gateway Integration via Basic Station)
ThingPark Account: Community platform, Enterprise platform, etc.

Note: if you already installed Actility LRR software to Milesight gateway before upgrading to 60.0.044 or 56.0.0.5 version, please DO RESET the device to factory default when upgrade. Otherwise the Actility feature will not work well, even uninstalling the original Actility LRR software.

Configuration

Gateway Configuration

1. Make sure that your gateway can connect to Internet successfully.

2. Go to Packet Forwarder > General, disable Embedded NS and create a new Destination.

3. Set the destination type as Actility(ThingPark LRR), enable this option and choose the platform type, copy the UUID and public key information, and then click Save.

Note: only new gateways support Actility ICS service to receive configuration from Actitlity ICS platform. For details please refer to ThingPark Infrastructure Commissioning Service.

ThingPark Platform Configuration

1. Login you ThingPark account, go to Base Stations page to click +ADD BASE STATION.

2. Select Milesight type from the manufacturer page.

3. Type below information and click ADD to add this gateway.

Model: Basics Station packet forwarder
Name: user-defined
LRR-UUID: this can be found on the Packet Forwarder > General page of the gateway.
RF Region: the same as gateway frequency
Generate base station certificate: enabled
Public key: this can be found on the Packet Forwarder > General page of the gateway.
