Description
Loriot provides feature-rich and instantly accessible community Network Servers hosted across the world. This article describes how to connect Milesight LoRaWAN® Gateway to Loriot.
Requirement
Milesight Gateway: SG50, UG56, UG6X or UG8X
Configuration
Milesight gateway is able to connect to Loriot via Semtech UDP packet forwarder or basic station packet forwarder.
Note: Loriot packet forwarder is only supported on UG65/UG67 with old hardwares.
Connect via Semtech UDP Packet Forwarder
- Make sure that your gateway can connect to the Internet successfully.
- Go to Packet Forwarder>General, disable Embedded NS and create a new Destination.
- Set the type as Semtech, select custom option and input the Server Address according to your Loriot account(Take “ap4pro.loriot.io” as example), set the Port Up and Port Down to 1780, then click Save.
- Change Gateway ID, replace FFFE with FFFF in the middle, then click Save&Apply.
- Login you Loriot account, go to Dashboard page to click Create New Network or go to Networks page to click +New Network.
- Click the network you create, click +Add Gateway.
- Select UG6x Series or UG8x Series gateway or Packet Forwarder Semtech from the homepage.
- Remove the FFFF in the Gateway ID and add colon mark. For example, to change the previous ID 24E124FFFFF5408E to 24:E1:24:F5:40:8E, and input it as eth0 MAC address.
- After created, click the gateway page and select frequency to match your gateway. For AU915 and US915, the default plan is CH8_15.
- Check the status on the same page. If the gateway connects to Loriot successfully, it will show Connected in green.
Connect via Basic Station Packet Forwarder
- Login you Loriot account, go to Dashboard page to click Create New Network or go to Networks page to click +New Network.
- Click the network you create, click +Add Gateway.
- Select Basics Station Semtech from the homepage.
- Remove the FFFE in the Gateway ID and add colon mark. For example, to change the previous ID 24E124FFFEF5408E to 24:E1:24:F5:40:8E, and input it as eth0 MAC address.
- After created, click the gateway page and select frequency to match your gateway. For AU915 and US915, the default plan is CH8_15.
- Go to Certificate page to find the server address, server port, and download the CA certificate. After download, change the extension of the CA certificate as .trust.
- Go to gateway web GUI and make sure that your gateway can connect to the Internet successfully.
- Go to Packet Forwarder>General, disable Embedded NS and create a new Destination.
- Set the type as Basic Station, input the Server Address and add the server port behind, import the CA certificate file, then click Save.Note: if you generate TLS Certificate and TLS Key on Loriot Certificate page, please import them to gateway LNS Client Certificate File and Client Key File blanks. For details please refer to Loriot Basics Station Semtech Guide.
- Check the status on the same page. If the gateway connects to Loriot successfully, it will show Connected in green.
Connect via Loriot Packet Forwarder
Suitable Model: UG65 and UG67 (with firmware version 60.0.0.44 and later)
- Make sure that your gateway can connect to the Internet successfully.
- Go to Packet Forward > General on gateway’s Web GUI, disable Embedded Network Server, create a new destination, and choose Loriot. The uplink port and downlink port will be changed to 1780 automatically.
- Input Server Address according to your Loriot account, in this example, take ap4pro.loriot.io as an example.
- Change Gateway ID, replace the FFFE with FFFF in the middle.
- Login you Loriot account, go to Dashboard page to click Create New Network or go to Networks page to click +New Network.
- Click the network you create, click +Add Gateway.
- Select Milesight UG6X Series or UG8X Series gateway according to the gateway’s model from the homepage.
- Remove the FFFF in the Gateway ID and add colon mark. For example, to change the previous ID 24E124FFFFF0DE07 to 24:E1:24:F0:DE:07, and input it as eth0 MAC address.
- After created, click the gateway page and select frequency to match your gateway. For AU915 and US915, the default plan is CH8_15.
- Check connect status.
