Description

Milesight Development Platform supports to work as a device management platform to manage the devices, as well as a LoRaWAN network server to receive sensor data from Milesight LoRaWAN end devices. This article will describe how to connect Milesight gateway to Milesight Development Platform.

Configuration

Step 1: Platform Configuration

1. Log in the Milesight Development Platform, go to Device page to click Add+ to add a device.

 

2. Type the SN of the gateway and define a name, click Confirm. The SN (serial number) can be found on the label of gateway or Status page of gateway. 

 

Note: if you need to assign the configuration to this gateway, please enable Auto Provision After adding to select a config template or customize a config template.

 

Step 2: Gateway Configuration

1. Ensure the gateway is upgraded to the supported firmware version and has accessed the Internet.

 

 

2. Enable the gateway to be managed by platform and select the platform type as Milesight Development Platform, click Save&Apply.

 

 

 

3. The gateway will pop up a prompt. 

If you need to connect LoRaWAN end devices to Milesight Development Platform, click Yes; if you already used other LoRaWAN network servers, gateway embedded network server or Milesight IoT Cloud, click No.


4. The gateway is connected to the platform.

 

 

 

5. You can check the basic information on the platform and remotely mange it including configuration, access, upgrade, etc. For details please refer to Milesight Development Platform User guide.

 

Note:

1) After Step 2, Milesight Development Platform LNS can also be enabled to forward LoRaWAN data to platform or disabled here:

 

2) If you need the gateway to receive the configuration file from the platform, please enable the Auto Provision option. If your gateway is already configured, please DO DISABLE this option to avoid your configurations are covered by the platform configuration file.
