WLAN Function Explained
Access Point (AP) or Client (Station)
Except for UR75-5G, Ursalink routers/gateways with Wi-Fi module works either as AP or as the STA. Because there is only one single radio, the device cannot rebroadcast existing Wi-Fi signal, it’s not applicable to use the device as Wi-Fi booster, repeater or extender. In this case, we are going to use a UR35 to be AP and a UR75 as STA.
AP Isolation
When AP isolation is enabled, all users with access to the AP are isolated without communication with each other. This feature should be disabled for this case.
Guest Mode
The internal network is not allowed to visit if the guest mode is enabled. This feature should be disabled for this case.
Preparation
- UR35 with Wi-Fi module
- UR75 with Wi-Fi module
- 2 Laptops
How-to Guide
AP Configuration
AP Static Routing
Add a route to UR75 the client.
Client Subnetwork Conflict
Change UR75’s bridge subnet is originally 192.168.1.1, which is conflict with UR32’s WLAN. It’s avoidable by changing the bridge IP to 192.168.2.1.
Client Configuration
Client Static Routing
Add a route for UR75 to help transfer routing information from its LAN to WLAN above.
